Red Beryl is also synonymous with Bixby named after its discoverer Maynard Bixby. However, the name Red Beryl is preferred due to confusion with Mineral Bixbyte. The gemstone receives its color from the manganese, iron, and chromium found within. Reb Beryl is sourced from Utah and New Mexico in the United State as well as Mexico.
